In October ’67 Edwards formed a partnership (OM Tentacle) with Michael McInnerney, together they designed the poster for the La Fenetre Rose Concert in Paris, various album covers, book jackets for Jonathan Cape and painted the façade of The Flying Dragon Restaurant in the Kings Road, followed by an invitation from Ettore Sottsas (pre-Memphis) to produce a series of designs for plastic laminates at ‘Abet Print’ in Italy.

“Dudley Edwards and Michael McInnerney submerged their identity together as ‘OM Tentacle’. In a kind of late survival of Tchelitchevian neo-Romanticism.” Quote Dr David Alan Mellor, Curator

In March 68 they both went their separate ways. Commissions followed for Dudley – from Yves St Laurent to photograph the Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York, from Sheik Abdul Aziz-Zaidan to paint a mural for his palace in Al Karj, followed by a suite of sixteen ceramic murals for a building in Riyadh. Edwards, while concentrating on his paintings also diversified into all forms of applied art including illustration, photography and then textiles – a period with his partner Madeleine Edwards designing rugs and wall hangings.

See Rug and Wall Hangings for examples.
